We are
Scouts and everyone is welcome here.
Scouts is where young people make new friends, have amazing adventures, and learn new skills.
Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing but we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team, helping others and taking on new challenges.
Every week Scouting gives 4-25 year olds the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.
Everyone’s welcome here, all genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your child’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them and we’ll help them find it.
Sign up to help your child discover their ‘thing’: from abseiling to coding, to exploring the great outdoors and everything in between.
Young people are welcome to come along for a few weeks to decide if they want to join before any payment or uniform is needed. Membership costs £38 per term. If cost is an issue, please let us know as support is available.
Within the 6th North Watford, we offer Beavers (for children aged 6-8), Cub Scouts (aged 8-10) and Scouts (aged 10-14). We are one of nine Scout groups in Watford North Scout District within Hertfordshire Scouts and are run entirely by volunteers. Provision for 4-14 year olds is provided within the Scout groups and for 14-25 year olds by the Scout District. We make good use of the local Scout activity centres Lees Wood and Phasels Wood.
