Waiting list policy

The 6th North Watford Scout Group is run by volunteers who give up their time for free alongside work and family commitments.
 

The allocation of spaces is at the discretion of the Group Leadership Team, who will primarily be guided by the following criteria:

​

1. Existing member of the 6th North Watford Scout Group moving up to the next Section i.e. from Beavers to Cubs or Cubs to Scouts

2. Child whose parent currently volunteers as a Leader or Trustee in our Group

3. Child whose parent currently volunteers as a leader in another local Scout Group

4. Child whose parent commits to volunteer as a Leader for a period of 2 years – note the child will not receive a place until the parent has completed their Scout DBS check and the basic online training of The Scouts

5. Child actively involved in another Scout Group who is relocating to the North Watford area

6. Time on the waiting list, with modest priority given to siblings of existing group members

 

A child will get lower priority if their age means they would spend less than six months within the section they are eligible to join. In such cases, they would be given priority to join the next section.​
